- Alternates or substitutes may be inserted into line ups only for the positions designated on the official substitute list. A line up consisting of two (2) #1 or two (2) #9 players is never allowed. Team Captains may play a substitute #1 player in the #2 position if, and only if, he plays his regular roster #2 in the #1 position as allowed in the grid above. Similarly, a line up with a substitute #9 player in the #10 position is only allowed if the line up is submitted with the regular roster #10 playing at #9.
- Team Captains may challenge the validity of a line up prior to the start of a match. Once a contested player's match has begun, Captain's may NOT challenge the player's position or eligibility.
- If a line up is challenged prior to the start of the match and the commissioner determines that the challenge has merit, then the captain of the affected team will be allowed to correct the line up if such a correction can be made without halting matches that have already begun or without causing a delay in the start of the match. If the line up can not be corrected, then the affected player must default the match under the penalty system.
